BERGHOF NEWS

________________________________________________________________________________
Dear friends, partners and colleagues,

Young people are not just victims or perpetrators of violent conflict. They are key actors in processes of conflict transformation and socio-political change. It is important to understand their aspirations for change and what influences their decisions to take a violent or nonviolent path.

We would therefore like to invite you to our online event today co-organised with Conciliation Resources on youth and armed conflict, and to join the discussion on young people’s aspirations, agency and opportunities to transform armed conflict. Scroll down for more information on today's event.

Our work to transform conflicts and achieve sustainable peace spans many countries and regions. In this newsletter, you can read about some of the different facets of our work in Afghanistan and Yemen as well as the efforts to counter the spread of conspiracy theories.

Best wishes,

The Berghof team

Véronique Dudouet analyses the opportunities offered by the revamped EU mediation policy. One of its strengths is the importance given to the EU’s value-based approach, strongly anchored in the promotion of human rights, democracy, rule of law, gender and youth inclusion, and confict sensitivity.
