To our parents, caregivers, educators and schools.
Dear VPC Community Member,
We hope that you and your family are staying safe during this difficult time. COVID-19 has interrupted our daily lives, and we are actively learning ways to slow the spread and to protect our community. Many countries have done well and are now easing of 'restrictions'.
The Victorian Parents Council, VPC, is collaborating with ‘researchers at the Monash University - Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation - MCHRI, and leading international agencies, to learn more about the COVID-19 pandemic and strategies to prevent infection.
Early April VPC invited many of you to participate in Phase 1 COVID-19 Survey. Please see the Preliminary Overview of Results
VPC is again asking for your help by completing this survey, to share your knowledge on the virus and to contribute to the solution. Please feel free to share this study widely with your family, friends and your school communities.
Here is a little background on the study. The Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre (www.mbmc-cmcm.ca) – which is affiliated with the University of Quebec at Montreal and Concordia University in Canada, has assembled an international team of over 120 researchers more than 30 countries around the world.
The researchers want to understand people’s awareness, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours about COVID-19, which is also known as coronavirus or novel coronavirus, throughout the world.
To do this the researchers are asking people from different countries to complete this survey. They also want to have a variety of different views, so anyone can complete the survey, no matter what your age, sex, or background is.
Your participation will contribute to better understanding the global and collective response to the COVID-19 outbreak, which may be used to improve current and future preventive strategies. Your participation is voluntary and your responses will be completely anonymous.
The following link will bring you to a short 20-minute online survey, which is available in many different languages: www.mbmc-cmcm.ca/covid19.
Please make sure give yourself enough time, as you cannot save the survey and come back to it later.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact the team through the project email: covid19study@mbmc-cmcm.ca.
Please note all responses are de-identified so no one will be able to align survey responses to individuals.
We thank you greatly for your time and cooperation. We are all in this together and we look forward to the days where we can move past this and come together as one, without the rules of social distancing
Sincerely,
Eveline Jona | VPC President
